Alexandra Maloney And Molly Meech Ready For ISAF 49erFX Sailing Event 2014

The ISAF 49erFX sailing event champions of 2013- Alexandra Maloney and Molly Meech are going to be back to defend their title this year as well. The duo had recently participated in the Olympic test regatta that was held in Rio de Janeiro and their performance had been extremely impressive.

Both of them decided to take a break and spend a few days in their respective home after the Olympic Rio test, before they would be competing in the 49erFX sailing event next week that is going to take place in Spain.

According to Molly Meech, the break was fundamental for both of them. Meech said that Alex and she are great friends and the understanding that they both share is really unique and special. But some time apart from each other is necessary so that they both can value and respect each other more.

The decision to take a break was a mutual one and Meech thought the opportunity to rest in New Zealand and coming back refreshed to start competing again is something that was essential.

In the opinion of Meech, the International Sailing Federation Sailing World Championships has improved tremendously because all the teams are putting in a lot of effort and helping the racing event to become more thrilling and intense. She is happy to witness the improvement of the different countries participating in the 49erFX class.

The ISAF Sailing World Championships 2014 is going to take place in Spain (Santander) from the 12th of September, 2014 to the 21st of September, 2014.
